West Camp Registrations: There is a limit of one registration per unit, per week. This is handled by your unit's designated summer camp coordinator

Provisional (Individual) Scouts: If a Scout would like to attend Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan Summer Camp at a different session than their home Unit, or if their home Unit is not attending Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan, their parents should contact Debi Geiger, our Program Assistant. She will help them register their Scout online as a Provisional Scout, or you  (the Registration Contact) can complete a separate registration for the Scout or Scouts.

NORTHEAST ILLINOIS COUNCIL UNITS: Use the Autofill button next to each participant spot to add names. If a name is not listed, use the Update Information button instead. Contact your Unit Leader if they should be on our list to ensure the participant is properly registered; include Debi Geiger or Sam Dummer in the email so they are informed of their BSA status.

Here is What is New for '25!

• Unit Commitment Deposit Phase: From today until November 1st, your unit can commit to Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan's 96th year with a $100 per Week Deposit. This $100 Troop Commitment Deposit is non-refundable, but your Unit's Registration Contact can apply it towards Scout or Adult fees after Participant Registration Opens (or your campsite fee; see below). This Unit Deposit Phase (where only the $100 is required) will be from now through November 1st.
• Additional Unit Contact Info can be added: Units have the option to add a second Contact Person to your registration. This person will not have access to your completed registration, but will be added to the 2025 registration system email List.
• Online Registration (adding specific names): The Unit Commitment Phase will be replaced by the Online Registration Phase on November 1st. This is when specific names for your Scouts and Leaders can begin to be added. The ability to complete a brand new online registration ends on June 1, 2025. As with last year, Troops who have an existing 2025 registration will have a “staggered” deadline to add more participants, merit badge fees, etc. That date depends on your camp week.
• Campsite Preferences & Assignments: During your unit's registration, you will be able to list up to three preferences for your campsite. We will do our best to place you in your first choice but may need to assign you to one of your alternates based on your total number of completed registrations and the needs of other units (i.e. accessibility, confirmed registrations vs. site capacities, etc.). Note: Priority will be given to units who are returning in 2025 for a consecutive year, for the same session, and who wish to remain in the same campsite. We are reviewing our listed campsite capacities and will be updating them based on 2024 feedback.
• Campsite Fees: With the above factors, your Unit's assigned campsite will be confirmed after the early fee deadline. Additional Campsites can be added as needed, based on the number of youth and adults you have registered and paid for online. Each campsite costs $100 and the fee will be added to your online registration when we “lock in” your campsite in our system. If you save it for it, your $100 Troop Commitment Fee can be used to pay it!

2025 PARTICIPANT COSTS

• The Early-Bird Fee is $400 per Scout, per week until 11:59 PM, February 28th, 2025
• Beginning on March 1st, the regular fee for a Scout will be $475 per week. There is no longer a Late Fee.
• Arrow of Light Cub Scouts who have crossed over into a Scouts BSA Troop can register for the $400 fee until 11:59 PM on May 15th.
• Brand new Scouts BSA members who have been recruited by your Troop after February 28th, 2025, can register for the $400 fee until 11:59 PM on May 15th.
• Scouts who attend two weeks of camp in 2025 will have a $50 discount automatically applied to the second completed registration (they do not need to be consecutive). IMPORTANT: The names must "match" (be spelled the same) for the system to find the 2nd registration.
• Full-Time Adults: The first two Full-time Adult Leaders registered online will have full discounts applied. Subsequent Full-time Adults will pay $150 each (week).
• Part-time Adults: Part-time Adult is a new "Registrant Type" in 2025 so they can now pay their fees online through the Parent Portal. There are no discounts for the "total number of Part-time Adult days". Sunday: $25; Monday-Friday: $35 each day.
