WHAT AND WHY

Akela Camp is held at Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan Scout Reservation in Pearson, Wisconsin.  Cubs experience an immersive Scouting program, from swimming and boating at the waterfront to hiking, leatherworking, shooting sports, and sleeping in beautiful East Camp.  Your Cub Scouts will have access to the full resources of a world-class Scouts BSA camp.  Sign up today!

We strongly encourage you to attend as a Den, but it is not required.  Webelos attending as a Den have an exciting opportunity to finish their time together in Cub Scouts.  Invite your Den Chief to participate with your Cub Scout Pack or Den.

SCHOLARSHIPS (Financial Assistance)

Thanks to many generous Northeast Illinois Council donors, we can provide scholarships for all or part of Scouts’ camp fees.  We never want financial challenges to stand in the way of the Scouting experience.

FAMILIES: Interested families should fill out the 2024 NEIC Camps Scholarship Application.  Please read the information and instructions carefully before completing it for each scout in your family.  The process is completely confidential.  The application is open through 11:59 PM on MARCH 15, 2024. We will reopen it if there are still funds available. The application itself will contain those updates.

SCOUT LEADERS: If you are a Scout leader or Camp Coordinator, consider forwarding this link to all your families, even if they haven’t signed up for camp yet or asked about financial assistance.  Since this application asks for personal and confidential information, you cannot complete it for other scouting families!
