Wood Badge 2020

Event Details

What is Wood Badge?

Wood Badge is an advanced national leadership course open to Scouting volunteers and professionals. Scouters from Cub Scouting, Scouts BSA, Venturing, Sea Scouts, Explorers, and district and council Scouters are all welcome to take the Wood Badge Course.

Participants attend five days of training over two weekend camping programs and a mid-course patrol meeting. Using what you’ve learned, you develop a “ticket” with a counselor and set goals to be completed over the 18 months following your course. Upon completion of your ticket, you will be presented with the Wood Badge certificate, neckerchief, woggle, and beads at an appropriate public ceremony.

You must be a registered adult with the Boy Scouts of America, have completed the training requirements for your position, and have a current Annual Health Medical Record parts A,B & C.

2020 WOOD BADGE FEES

$300 – Early Discount Fee Jan. 8 to March 31 (11:59 PM).
$325 – Regular Fee April 1 to Aug. 1 (11:59 PM).
$350 – Late Fee Aug. 2 to Aug. 16 (11:59 PM-Registration closes).

This fee includes food, camping fees, program materials and Wood Badge recognition items. Fees are fully refundable if cancelled at least 30 days prior to course. A $50 deposit is required with your registration.

If you are seeking financial assistance, consider your unit’s budget for leadership development, your employer’s continuing education policies, or community organization memberships. You can also check with your district training chair for other possible resources.
