Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan Scout Reservation is proud to be a Nationally Accredited High Adventure Base. We are offering many different adventures for your troop or crew.  Whether you are interested in taking in the vistas on foot at one of our backpacking destinations, paddling through the great rivers of the north woods on our kayaking or canoe treks, or relaxing on sailboats in Lake Superior, there is sure to be a trek for you!

NEW IN 2018 – The 2018 MSR High Adventure Request Form. We want to gather information about your troop or crew before you register online. Why? So we can mail you a Trek Packet to help promote it, and prepare for it. Please complete and return the trek request form to our council office with $50. Contact Quinn Ryan with program questions and Debi Geiger with registration or payment questions.

NEW TREK OPPORTUNITY IN 2018:  We are offering a Provisional High Adventure Trek during Week 1 for scouts in your unit who want to go hiking, even if your unit can’t do a trek!  The Provisional trek is a “password protected” registration, since an application must be completed (signed by a parent and unit leader), before the scout can register online as a “Porcupine Mt. Provisional Scout”. Fees and deadlines are the same as unit treks (see camp website).  NOTE:  The Week 6  Provisional Trek has been canceled.

Registration opens by January 2, 2018. 

When registering, choose the week of your trek first, then its name with the type. Example: Apostle Island Scout, Apostle Island Adult; Exception: After choosing your week, choose "Lake Superior Boat" since it is a "per boat" fee.  Then, provide the type (Lake Superior Scout, Lake Superior Adult) and name of each person on the boat - limit 6 per boat.

*Apostle Island participants must be at least 14 years old.  No exceptions.

**In 2018, Lake Superior Sailing trek fees are per boat, instead of per person.  The cost is $4,500 for a 39 ft. boat ($750 each for 6-man crew), with a $1,000 non-refundable deposit due (per boat) when registering.  IMPORTANT: You are required to have at least 2 youth and 2 adults on each boat, so be prepared to provide (at least) those names by the April 2 deposit deadline.

***The WI River Headwaters Canoeing trek groups should be intermediate-level or above; it is not recommended for beginner-level groups or younger scouts.

• Gear shakedown at camp
• Camping space in Wabaningo before and after the trek
• Food before and after the trek
• Food, equipment, supplies during the trek
• Camping fees, vehicle passes, ferry passage, as needed
• Transport of food, supplies, guide, canoe trailer, as needed
