Calling all Scouts interested in history, US presidents, penguins, space exploration, holidays, art, nature, or just about any other topic you can think of. You can find each of these and just about any other hobby on postage stamps. (And hey who doesn't want to get a merit badge while you are at it?)

Join us for the Stamp Collecting Merit Badge workshop Saturday November 21st from 10 to 4pm at the Westin Chicago Northwest, 400 Park Boulevard, Itasca. The workshop will take place in the middle of CHICAGOPEX 2026, a meeting point for collectors and dealers from across the US.

To Be Prepared, plan on bringing a lunch, your signed blue-card, an active interest and lots of questions. Of course, if you already have a stamp collection, please feel free to bring it, too!

We’ll provide everything needed for you to complete the Stamp Collecting merit badge requirements, but more importantly, you’ll also leave the workshop with your own stamp collection!

In advance of the workshop, Scouts should work on requirement 7a – “Design a stamp, cancellation, or cachet.”  Please bring a paper copy of your work to the workshop.

Parents are welcome to sit in on the session - they can collect stamps, too!  During the workshop, we'll take a tour of the show floor to see dealers, the youth stamp collecting area, and stamp exhibits.
