This course is designed for:
- Den Leaders and Assistant Den Leaders
- Cubmasters and Assistant Cubmasters
- Pack Committee Chairs and Pack Committee Members
It’s ideal if you are:
- A brand-new Cub Scout leader
- An experienced leader taking on a new position
- A parent who wants to get more involved with the pack
WHAT this training is
Cub Scout Leader Position-Specific Training
This essential, instructor-led course helps you:
Understand your role and responsibilities
Learn how to deliver a fun, safe, and structured Cub Scout program
Gain confidence and clarity in leading your den or pack
Sessions are led live by experienced Cub Scout leaders who are ready to support you, share practical tips, and answer your questions. You’ll leave with tools and resources to help your Scouts thrive.
This is a comprehensive version of the basic training for Cub Scouters, and it does not expire.
After successfully completing this half-day session, you will have completed the required position-specific training for all of the Cub Scouting leadership roles listed above.
Please note: Cubmasters, Den Leaders, and their assistants are also required to complete Hazardous Weather Training every two years. This is not part of this course but is available online at my.scouting.org.

$3.00
This fee covers the official “Trained” strip, which will be mailed to you after you complete the course.
WHEN
Choose one Saturday morning session (8:00 AM – 1:15 PM):
- Saturday, January 31, 2026 – Virtual Training
- Saturday, February 28, 2026 – Virtual Training
- Saturday, March 28, 2026 – Virtual Training

Online
These training sessions will be held via Zoom.
You will receive a Zoom link the week before your chosen session.
ALTERNATIVE OPTION
You may also complete your leader-specific training online at my.scouting.org. This is the same site you used to complete youth protection training.
This option delivers the same core content in smaller modules, which may be helpful if you cannot attend a single five-hour live session.
