Location: College of DuPage, Health & Science Center - 425 Fawell Blvd, Glen Ellyn, Illinois 60137

7:15 am: Check-in begins
8:15 am: Opening
9am – 4:30pm: 7 sessions of courses plus lunch & Keynote Speaker
4 pm: Degrees,, Recognition and Closing

Registration Fee: $35.00 includes lunch, patch, certificate and course materials. ($40.00 Walk-in fee)

Purpose: The purpose of the College of Commissioner Science is to provide ongoing practical training for all Commissioners to allow them to better serve their units. The college provides an in-depth knowledge of essential aspects of Commissioner duties and responsibilities.  The result is a stronger and more knowledgeable Commissioner Corps which can better serve units. The College of Commissioner Science is the highest form of Commissioner education available at the local level.

The following programs are offered:

  • The Bachelor Program
  • The Master Program
  • The Roundtable Program
  • Enrichment Courses for Continuing Education
  • Assistance toward the Doctorate of Commissioner Science Degree Program 
  • Assistance toward the Doctorate of Commissioner Science Knot Award

Lunch is catered Boxed Lunches. (Please select your lunch choice when registering for the College. If you have special dietary needs, please indicate that on your registration.) 

You have the option to attend 7 courses during the day. Please select your courses based on what program you are working on and/or what interests you. Please refer to the catalog on the sidebar for specifics on what courses qualify for each program. Use the Course GRID (also on Sidebar) to pre-select you courses before registering.

– Reciprocity – This College of Commissioner Science will consider  pre-requisites, courses and degrees given by other Colleges of Commissioner Science or Commissioner courses taken at the Philmont Training Center toward further degree completion.  If those courses and degrees should meet the standards set forth by the National Commissioner Service Team on the scouting.org Commissioner training web pages. In order to receive prior credit toward degree completion at this College, please scan and send documentation of prior eligible courses you have taken at other BSA accredited colleges to Deb Brown for reciprocity credit review.
