Potawatomi District Fall Camporee

Event Details

Join us for the Flyin' High Fall Camporee hosted by Potawatomi District

We will be at Plowmand Park in Big Rock.

You can earn the Aviation Merit Badge and the Up and Away NOVA Award.

We will also be visiting the Air Classics Museum at no charge for registered Scouts and Leaders.

Friday, September 30, 2022

5:00 PM Troop/Crew Check In

7:30 PM Scoutmaster/SPL Cracker Barrel and Meeting

8:00 NOVA Up and Away Step 1 Prerequisite (1.5 of 3 hours) (Optional)

10:00 PM Lights Out Quiet Hours

 

Saturday, October 1, 2022

6:00 AM Revelry and In Camp Breakfast

9:00 AM Flags

At this point the troops/patrols will be split into three groups.  The groups will rotate through the three stations, Class, Air Classics Museum, Airport.  Scouts can choose to take either the Aviation Merit Badge class or the NOVA Up and Away class.  The airport and museum fills requirements for both of these achievements. 

9:30-11:00 Session 1

11:00-12:30 Lunch in Patrols

1:00-2:30 Session 2

2:30-4 Session 3

4:30-7:00 Troop Dinner-feel free to reach out to packs that feed into your troop and invite Cub Scouts and their families attending the Shooting Sports Weekend to eat dinner with your troop.  

7:00 PM  All Camp Campfire

Come ready to share your favorite troop song, skit or dad joke!  The Cub Scouts and their families will be invited to join us for this event

10:00 PM Lights Out Quiet Hours

7:00 AM All Camp Pancake Breakfast

Served by our the Potawatomi District OA Chapter

Free Breakfast for the entire camp.  Come learn how you can serve and be involved as    part of our local Order of the Arrow chapter.  Pack up and leave after breakfast

 

Special Notes: 

 

Troops will need to transport their own scouts to and from the Air Classics Museum

Air Classics Museum tickets are $5 and is included with the event (Potawatomi Distirct will pay the entery fee).

Each troop will be asked to contribute to the campfire program on Saturday night with a skit, a song, or even a series of dad jokes. 

OA Scouts will provide the pancake breakfast on Sunday morning.

All fires need to be above ground.
