TB: 2018 BOOTCAMP Merit Badge Clinic

Event Details

2018 BOOTCAMP Merit Badge Clinic

Each Fall, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints hosts a Merit Badge Clinic in Thunderbird District offering multiple merit badge classes giving active Boy Scouts a great opportunity to earn merit badges toward the rank of Eagle Scout.  In past years, 6-8 different merit badges were available to choose from.  Two of them were taken from the list of required merit badges for earning the Eagle rank, and the rest were electives.  Since time was limited to two sessions (one Saturday morning in Oct and another in November) we have avoided offering the three most difficult required merit badges.

This year's Special Edition "BOOTCAMP" changes that... For the first time, three class periods will be offered on three separate dates instead of the standard two.  This year will focus exclusively on the three month required Merit Badges (Personal Management, Personal Fitness and Family Life).  Scouts who need them can register for one, two or all three of these merit badges. Be aware that slots will be limited to the first 120 who sign up.  40 Scouts for each merit badge - each period (3 periods). Each period will have six classes (2 classes of 20 students for each merit badge): So - each Scout who wants can sign up for 1, 2 or all 3 merit badges and will need to attend those same classes during the same periods on each of the three dates to have the best chance to complete the merit badges selected.  For example if a Scout signs up for Personal Fitness they will need to attend only one of the personal fitness classes during their assigned period on each of the three dates.
