Join Us For A Fantastic Summer Of

Scouting At Camp Freeland Leslie!

The Midwest's premier patrol method summer camp is set for another amazing summer. Join us at CFL this summer for The Mountain Man Rendezvous!!

Enjoy Axe Throwing, Black Powder Shooting, Patch Trading, Log Rolling in the pristine Lake Emerick, refresh at the Root Beer Cantina and much more. CFL is also a bike friendly camp, with lots of trails, making it easy to get around to enjoy all that CFL has to offer.

Each year, our outdoor experience is the highlight of our campers’ Scouting career.  CFL has a reputation for great programs for youth and adults, led by an exceptional CFL Staff. You can tackle as much advancement as you wish with four scheduled merit badge sessions (and an open session), or relax and have fun, the choice is yours............

History has shown that you will have a better Troop program by participating in a patrol method summer camp.  By using the patrol method and patrol cooking, it helps to create opportunities for youth to learn teamwork, leadership, and supports a better year-round camping experience. There are hundreds of camps teaching merit badges and offering special programs each summer, however, our commitment to customer service sets us apart from other camps. Your unit’s complete satisfaction is our #1 goal, and our staff will work tirelessly to surpass your expectations.

What is a Provisional Scout Opportunity?

Would you like to attend Camp Freeland Leslie but you can't attend the week your Troop is attending, you would like an additional week of camp or your Troop is not able to attend CFL this summer?  Experience an amazing summer at Camp Freeland Leslie by signing up as a Provisional Scout.

As a Provisional Scout, you will be hosted by an attending Troop and assigned a patrol, comprised primarily of other Provisional Scouts. You will elect Patrol Leaders, and will have all the same opportunities as a traditional troop while at camp.

CFL has Provisional Scout Troop opportunities available Week # 1 (June 17-23), Week #2 (June 24-30), and Week # 4 (July 15-21).  Additional weeks will be determined based on requests received for alternative weeks.  If  Weeks #1, #2 or #4 do not work with your schedule, send an email to thomas.barrington@scouting.org indicating the preferred week and he will work to pair you with a Host Troop attending your preferred week.
