Ottawa District Annual Meeting and Volunteer Recognition Dinner
Come celebrate with your fellow Scouters at our Annual District Volunteer Dinner. Every year the district hosts this event so that we recognize volunteers for their dedication to the Scouting Movement and to the youth of our community. Below is a list of the awards that will be presented and how to nominate volunteers for them. This dinner is for ALL adult volunteers in the Ottawa District. All Volunteer Leaders who have earned the following awards in 2025 will be recognized at the Dinner.
Recognize and celebrate your unit’s dedicated volunteer leaders! All 2025 award nominations are due by or before March 9th, 2026.
The business of the Ottawa District Annual Meeting takes place at 5:30pm. All are welcomed to this meeting. Only current Charter Organization Representatives of Ottawa District units, currently registered Ottawa District Committee Members and Council Board Members who live within the Ottawa District are voting members.
At the conclusion of the Annual Meeting, a formal dinner will begin at 6:30pm. We encourage units to buy a table and invite people to attend the dinner. This is a great opporrtunity for you to invite your Charter Organization Rep, school principal or church pastor to sit at your table.

ACORN AWARD
The Silver Acorn Award can be given to one volunteer in each unit of the Ottawa District, and should not go to someone who has already received it in that unit. So an individual could earn multiple Silver Acorn Awards from different units they may serve in.
This award is intended to go to a unit level volunteer that demonstrates great dedication to Scouting and who lives by the ideals of the Scout Oath and Law. This person DOES NOT need to be a registered volunteer.
