Range and Target Safety Officer Training

Are you interested in learning how to run Cub Scout BB Gun and Archery Ranges at Council and District events? Range and Target Activities are a major highlight in a Cub Scout’s life and helping them learn a new skill is very gratifying. We hope you will consider getting trained so you can run ranges safely and effectively. 

This is a required training for anyone who will be volunteering as a Rangemaster. The Cub Scout Shooting Certification is valid for two years. 

Archery and BB gun shooting are restricted to District Day Camps, Cub Scout/Webelos Scout Resident Camps, Council-Managed Family Camping Programs, or to Council activities.

This training will include instruction on how to set up and run a Range and Target range. This training will also assist in setting up ranges for Day Camp that week.

Where: Von Oven Scout Reservation (701 S West St, Naperville, IL 60540)

• BB Gun Range Officer Training - 10am-Noon
• Archery Range Officer Training - 1pm-3pm
