Are you ready to take the next step in your Scouting journey? Whether you're new to the outdoors or looking to sharpen your leadership skills, IOLS (Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills) and BALOO (Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation) are the perfect opportunities to grow — for you and your Scouts!

What You'll Learn:

  • Outdoor skills like knots, first aid, fire building, and navigation
  • Principles of effective leadership
  • Risk assessment and outdoor safety
  • Program planning and activity design
  • Leave No Trace ethics

Course Details:

Dates: October 3–4, 2025
Times: Check-in at 5:00 PM Friday | Closing ceremony at 5:00 PM Saturday
Location: Camp Maluhia (or other suitable location)
Cost: $40 (includes meals, snacks, and materials)

Pre-requisites:

  • BALOO: Complete the online component beforehand (find it in your my.scouting.org account)
  • IOLS: complete the online leader specific training.
  • Hazardous Weather Training
  • Safety Afloat
  • Safe Swim Defense
  • Youth Protection Training (current)

What to Bring:

  • A full packing list and welcome letter will be sent one week before the course. All participants must bring:
  • Current Youth Protection Training (YPT) certificate
  • Medical form Parts A, B1, and B2 (Scouts BSA form)
