Dennis Francis is publisher of the Honolulu Star-Advertiser – Hawaii’s leading provider of in-depth, consistent and credible local news – as well as president & CEO of Oahu Publications Inc, whose portfolio includes not only the Star-Advertiser but also, The Garden Island newspaper on Kauai, the Hilo Hawaii Tribune-Herald & West Hawaii Today on the Big Island, MidWeek, and various other community and military publications and in-room hotel magazines.  Dennis also oversees The San Francisco Examiner and the SF Weekly newspapers in San Francisco, California.

Francis has nearly 40 years of senior newspaper management experience.  He oversaw the merger of the Honolulu Star-Bulletin and the Honolulu Advertiser in 2010.  In 2013 Editor & Publisher (E&P) magazine named him “Publisher of the Year”, besting newspaper publishers from the New York Times, Dallas Morning News, The Orange County Register and Montreal, Quebec.

Francis is on numerous local boards including Boy Scouts of America, Diamond Head Theatre, Aloha United Way and Hawaii Business Roundtable to name a few. We hope you will join us in celebrating his commitment to community and Scouting in Hawai'i.
