Healthcare Merit Badge Days

Join us on Saturday, January 24th, at the Thunderbolt Masonic Lodge for another healthcare-based Merit Badge.

Registration is just $8, and lunch (pizza) is available for $6 or bring your own.

Registration is separate for each day. On days with two Merit Badges, Scouts can select to take either or both.

Classes are limited to 40 Scouts. If you have already earned the badge, please leave room for others.

Requirements to have done ahead of time:

4a - walk/run a mile and record the time

Requirements that will be completed during the course:

1, 2, 3, 4b, 5, 6, 8

Requirements that will need to be completed at a later date with the troop:

5 - I recommend visiting your school cafeteria to:

(1) Observe food preparation, handling, and storage. Learn how the facility keeps food from becoming contaminated.

(2) Find out what conditions allow microorganisms to multiply in food, what can be done to help prevent them from growing and spreading, and how to kill them.

(3) Discuss the importance of using a thermometer to check food temperatures.

(4) Discuss your visit and what you learned with your counselor.
