C.O.P.E. Level 1 Training

FEES COVER BOTH WEEKENDS and include all food, camp fees, and equipment usage.

This training will cover all of the C.O.P.E. Program (Low & High), Climbing Tower, Zip Line at the Lake, Portable Climbing Wall, and Rescues.

The training will be two (2) weekends March 27-29, 2020 & April 3-5, 2020. Class will start Friday 7 pm. You need to be there for ALL classes.  Meals are included starting with breakfast on Saturday

What is COPE Level 1?

A person that has been trained as a COPE Level 1, is a person that is part of the COPE Program Staff and helps a COPE Director facilitate a COPE Event.

Requirements for being trained as COPE Level 1: Be at least 18 years of age or older, be registered in the BSA, Good Judgement, Team Player, Follow the Rules, Pass COPE Level 1 Training. (If someone under 18 comes and passes the training would be listed as COPE Staff but they would have to be at least 16 years old but not 18).

Recommended packing list Other than your personal camping gear: Gloves with padded palms (for belaying), Helmet Liner, Long Pants, Tennis Shoes or Hiking Boots, Laptop Computer, USB Thumb Drive, Paper & Pencils (taking notes), COPE Book (if you already have one), Water Bottle,  you will also need A & B of the BSA Physical Form (Do not need part C).

This training is being done to help us get more people qualified to help run the COPE Program year round. This is not just for Summer Camp Staff. Also, this training is need so we put on a COPE Level 2 Training Course. Requirements for being trained as COPE Level 2: Be at least 21 years of age or older, Be registered in the BSA, Good Judgement, Team Player, Follow the Rules, Be COPE Level 1 Trained.  We need more people involved in our Council COPE Program as COPE Level 1 & COPE Level 2. So please sign up as soon as you can, so we can make the final plains.
