COPE stands for Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience

COPE consists of three components:

1. Initiative games- fun activities that you can do during scout meetings and on campouts.

2. Low COPE which are team building activities

3. High COPE where you test yourself traversing various elements on steel cables 30-40 feet in the air, including zip lines.

As a bonus, you will also learn to climb and rappel from our towers.  Lawhorn Scouring Base has one of the best COPE courses and climbing/rappelling towers in the southeast.  We need instructors,18 and over, who enjoy working with scouts, want to learn new skills, and challenge themselves, both physically and mentally.  In turn, you will do the same for scouts in your troop and throughout the council.

Youth 16-18 can also attend and become instructors-in-training, becoming full-fledged instructors once they turn 18.

Meals, lodging in camp cabins and instructional material will be provided
