Scouter's Academy Adult Camporee

Event Details

Preparing for your first campout or looking to sharpen your outdoor leadership skills?
We are excited to offer our first Scouter’s Academy Adult Camporee!
This is your opportunity to build confidence, develop practical skills, and connect with fellow
Scouters from across the Georgia-Carolina Council.
Join us for a weekend of hands-on learning, fellowship, and outdoor adventure as we bring
together two essential training opportunities in one event:
• Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS) – Required outdoor skills training for
Scouts BSA troop leaders.
• BALOO (Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation) – Required training for Cub Scout
pack overnighters.
• Fellowship Only — Come for the friends, come for the fun! Seasoned scouters are
welcome (and encouraged) to come out and participate in the weekend as part of a patrol
to brush up on skills, enjoy the games, and/or use the EDGE method to help our scoutersin-training along the way.
We will spend the weekend camping, cooking, learning, and practicing real Scouting skills at our
beloved Knox Scout Reservation. Shared sessions will bring everyone together for fellowship
and foundational outdoor skills, while breakout sessions will focus on the specific requirements
for each training track. Throughout the weekend, patrols will participate in outdoor games, camp
cooking, an archery program, and friendly competitions designed to reinforce learning while
having fun.
The weekend concludes with a graduation ceremony and campfire celebration recognizing each
participant's accomplishments as they complete their training and continue their journey as
confident outdoor leaders.
