Participants must be at least 21 years old to take this course. Check in will begin at 6 pm. Training will begin at 8 pm Friday and will end around 6 pm Saturday. This is a 12 hour course so if everyone arrives closer to 6 we will end earlier. Breakfast and lunch will be provided Saturday. 
 

This course will teach Chainsaw Safety, Basic Chainsaw Operation, Basic First Aid, Hands on Chainsaw Training and Basic Chainsaw Maintenance. All sections are required to operate a Chainsaw on Scouting America property. 
*All participants must wear proper PPE, which includes chainsaw chaps/pants, chainsaw helmet with full visor and safety glasses, hearing protection, proper footwear ( preferably protective toe). Gloves are optional but recommend. We do have some loner chaps and helmets but if you have your own please bring it. We also have chainsaws available for use.
** This training will cover limbing and bucking of downed trees only. You will not be trained to fell trees as this requires more experience with handling chainsaws and advanced techniques that will not be covered.
