What is Wood Badge?
Wood Badge training was begun by Baden Powell in 1919 as a way to assure that the leaders of Scout Troops were properly trained. Since then, Wood Badge training has been held worldwide providing advanced leader training to thousands of Scout Leaders.
Wood Badge is considered the premier leadership training course for Scout Leaders. Wood Badge for the 21st Century is available to registered leaders of all levels of the Scouting program – Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Exploring and Venturing. It concentrates on providing training on modern leadership skills needed in today’s world for Scout leaders. Wood Badge Training will not only make you a better Scout Leader, it will also assist you in improving your personal and professional life as well.
Why should I go to Wood Badge?
Through Wood Badge you will gain valuable tools in listening, communication, conflict management, project planning and leading change. You will also learn how to leverage the diversity that exists in your units, lead with a vision and how to be the best Scout Leader you can be to benefit the youth in your unit. Units with a wealth of highly trained leaders are able to deliver a better program and a better experience for our youth. Experience shows that the youth in units with Wood Badge trained leaders will stay in Scouting longer, accomplish more, and have more fun. The skills that you will learn at Wood Badge will not only make your job as a Scout leader easier, but they will also make you a better leader in all facets of your life.

Cancellation and refund policy
- Refund policy is as follows
- Refund minus $50: When cancellation is made 30 days prior to event
- No refund/refund at council discretion: When cancellation is made within 29 days of event.
- All cancellations or requests for refund must be submitted via email to cderose@atlantabsa.org
- Cancellations and refund requests cannot be accepted over the phone.
