What is Discovery Day Camp?
Discovery Day Camp is a week-long, full-day program for boys and girls entering 1st through 5th grade in the fall designed for kids to try out Scouting. This is your child's opportunity to experience the excitement, creativity, and adventure of Scouting in a safe, welcoming environment!
Each day at camp is filled with hands-on activities that kids love—things like crafts, outdoor games, nature hikes, water fun, archery, and even performing skits with new friends. It’s a chance to get outside, try new things, build confidence, and most importantly—have fun. More than just play, Day Camp introduces children to the basics of outdoor skills and teamwork, helping prepare them for future camping experiences while staying close to home. It’s also a great way to see what Scouting is all about—no experience necessary.
Safety is among our top priorities in Scouting. All of our programs follow Scouting America’s nationally recognized Youth Protection Policies, which include two-deep adult leadership, background checks, and strict supervision standards. Our staff and volunteers are trained to ensure every child is safe, supported, and cared for throughout the day.
We know how busy summer can be, and that's why we offer flexible camp options—including drop-off care and before/after-care services. Whether your child attends with a parent or on their own, they'll come home each day full of stories, new skills, and excitement for what’s next.
This summer, give your child a week they'll never forget at Discovery Day Camp—now open to non-Scouts for the first time ever!
