Back to Brownsea 2024 - Presented by Fort Brooke District
Now it is the time for all 5th Grade AOL Scouts girls and Scouts BSA girls to experience the Back to Brownsea Program. Register now for this unique camp!
The Brownsea Island Scout Camp began as a camping event on Brownsea Island in southern England, organized by Robert Baden-Powell, the founder of Boy Scouting, to test his ideas for the book Scouting for Boys in August 1907. Recognized as the world's first Scout camp, the event is regarded as the real origin of the worldwide Scout movement.
The basic skills learned at the camp are the cornerstone of current scouting and skills that all new scouts learn as they transition from Webelos to Scouts. Participants will develop these skills during a hands-on camping event known as the Back to Brownsea Program.
