Fall Cub Scout Range Master Training

Camp Soule
Time 8 AM – 4 PM
Cost - $15

Learn how to properly set up and run a Cub Scout shooting sports event.  This will include setup, safety and range operations for archery, bb guns and wrist rockets.  The afternoon will be practical experience in running a cub scout range.  Successful completion of this course allows you to assist at one of the Council ranges for Cub Scout Shooting events.  You must be over 18 and a registered leader to take this course.  The certification is valid for two (2) years.

This training will cover:

  • History of BB guns and Archery   
  • Safety Guidelines
  • Equipment maintenance and storage
  • Range Layout and Operations
  • How to Train Cub Scouts
  • Shooting Basics
  • Practice Shooting
  • Games and Activities

Please bring: pen/pencil, notebook and water bottle

Please remember to wear closed toed shoes and avoid loose clothing or a loose hair style that could get caught in the bows.

Lunch for participants will be provided. 

COVID Information

Council event attendees, including participants and staff, are required to comply with the Council's current COVID protocols. Failure to do so will result in removal from Council properties and/or events and forfeiture of event registration fees.

All participants must submit a pre-medical event checklist and waiver upon entry, All participants will be health screened upon entry.

All Participants must bring a current BSA Medical form (download here).

In the case of a positive COVID result among participants at an event, GTBAC will follow the guidance of the local Health Department, which may include cancellation or closure of the event or facility.
