Virtual Summer Camp 2020!

Our summer camp leadership team has been hard at work developing an unparalleled virtual summer camp experience for Scouts that will be engaging and fun for all. On June 14th, 2020, we will start our very first session of Virtual Summer Camp brought to you by the 2020 Camp La-No-Che Summer Camp Team and the Central Florida Council. Registration for Virtual Summer Camp will open May 4th.

Here are some things that you can expect at a session of Virtual Summer Camp:

• Each camp session will run from Sunday afternoon to Thursday evening, starting with a welcome/orientation session and ending Thursday evening with our live camp-wide closing campfire. See the current session schedule 
• Scouts can register for up to 4 program periods of 1 hour each that will run Monday-Thursday at specific times
• Scouts will be able to choose from over 30 programs that have been hand-selected to be engaging and appropriate for this virtual experience. Program Registration will start May 11 at noon. Check out a selection of those programs here:

Virtual Summer Camp Merit Badge Schedule 

• Each Scout is scheduled to receive “Summer Camp in a Box” in the mail prior to the start of their session which will include:
  • Their 2020 Summer Camp Patch
  • Items specific to the programs for which they have registered
  • Some additional items for other activities to help them have a great week
  • Other surprise items!
• Scouts will be able to participate in live camp-wide activities including daily opening and closing flag ceremonies, virtual competitions, and other interactive opportunities with fellow campers and staff.
• Throughout the week, Scouts will be able to earn awards like the camper spirit award, participate in self-paced challenges, and see who takes home the virtual Cheney Cup!
• Extra surprises to enhance the week

We are starting with 3 sessions of Virtual Summer Camp:

Session 1 – June 14 – June 18

Registration deadline for session 1 – May 31st at 11:59p*

Session 2 – June 21 – June 25

Registration deadline for session 2 – June 7th at 11:59p*

Session 3 – June 28 – July 2

Registration deadline for session 3 – June 14th at 11:59p*

*In order to ensure we can provide the “Summer Camp in a Box” supplies prior to camp, registration for each session must be done 2 weeks prior to the start of the session.

Each session will have 2 price options with attendee limits for each:

$150 – Virtual Summer Camp with practical weekend at Camp La-No-Che in the fall/winter

• This will include a weekend in the fall/winter, depending on when we can host such a weekend, that will allow Scouts to complete practical, in-person portions of their selected Merit Badge programs as needed.

$120 – Virtual Summer Camp without additional practical weekend

• This price will include the full Virtual Summer Camp experience, including all items listed above, but will not include attendance at the practical weekends in the fall/winter. This is ideal for those who are from out of state and travelling from their location for a weekend would not be easily feasible.
