An adventure at Philmont will be one of the most incredible experiences of your lifetime. During a Rocky Mountain Philmont Adventure, scouts will have the chance to choose the itinerary for their adventure. They will hike over 50 miles within the mountains sharing breathtaking views and accomplishments. Scouts may choose from over 30 itineraries ranging in length, difficulty, and programs. Program features combine the best of the Old West—horseback riding, burro packing, gold panning, chuckwagon dinners, and interpretive history—with exciting challenges for today—rock climbing, burro racing, and rifle shooting—in an unbeatable recipe for fast-moving outdoor fun.

Central Florida Council is organizing a male scout contingent for 2025. The trek dates are June 10 – June 22, 2025 (confirmed with Philmont as trek number 610-20), however travel times/dates will be confirmed once our flights are set, and sightseeing adventures are booked before Philmont check in are decided on. We may leave Orlando as early as the evening of June 7th.

This trek is limited to a maximum of 3 adults and 9 youth (or 4 adults and 8 youth). Youth will have a priority over adults. This is a great opportunity for a Scout to get a chance to go to Philmont if his Troop is not going. Individual scouts are encouraged to register.

To be eligible, Scouts must be 14 or 13 and have finished the 8th grade by June 11, 2024. All participants must meet the Scouts BSA Height and Weight requirements.

A $150 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your spot.

The TOTAL COST which includes Philmont fees, airfare, sightseeing, transportation and mandatory shakedowns is $3,010. *

*This round-trip cost is estimated. Although we try our very best to come in on budget, as this undertaking is 18 months in the future, we are at the mercy of price increases from vendors such as eating establishments, excursion companies, airlines, lodging and transportation providers.

The fee is our best estimate at this point in time. There is no guarantee that this will fully cover the costs, in which case Council reserves the right to increase the fee. By making the reservation payment, you are committing to making every payment in full, on time as scheduled. Late payments or underpayments may result in being moved to the waitlist. All payments are non-refundable as Central Florida Council enters in to binding commitments on your behalf.  Should you need to withdraw for any reason after any payment is made, you will remain responsible for the payment for all expenses incurred on your behalf.  Crew members can be substituted until about 120 days prior to the departure of the Contingent.

Your original Deposit of $150.00 reserves your spot in the crew. From February 1st, 2024 thru February 1st, 2025 there will be 13 monthly payments of $220 due on the 1st of each month for your total of $3,010 (which will include the $150 deposit). Your final installment must be paid by February 15th, 2025.

Upon receipt of your deposit, you will receive information about our Philmont Orientation Meeting.
