October 16–18 | Camp Rybolt
Leonard and Marjorie Williams Family Scout Reservation

Spend a weekend at Camp Rybolt deepening your commitment to outdoor ethics, conservation, and responsible recreation. Leave No Trace Weekend offers two distinct educational sessions, allowing both adults and youth (14+) to gain practical skills and nationally recognized training in outdoor stewardship. Whether you’re an experienced leader, an outdoor educator, or a Scout preparing for leadership responsibilities, this weekend will empower you to protect the outdoors while teaching others to do the same. This events begins on Friday and runs throught Sunday afternoon.

Cost to Register

Registration opens in advance of the event. Pricing, deadlines, and track selection will be available during registration. Space is limited to ensure highquality instruction, Register early to secure your spot!

Meals & Dietary Information

Meals will be provided beginning Saturday breakfast through Sunday lunch for participants. The Central Florida Council recognizes that participants may have dietary restrictions or food allergies. While we strive to accommodate needs:

  • All dietary needs must be indicated at registration
  • Some participants may need to bring their own food, similar to personal medications
  • Dietary requests made within two weeks of the event cannot be guaranteed

 

Leave No Trace Trainer Education (Adults: Ages 18+)

The Leave No Trace Trainer Course, offered in partnership with the BSA and the Center for Outdoor Ethics, provides an indepth look at the impacts humans have on the outdoors and how to minimize them. This immersive course prepares participants to serve as Leave No Trace Trainers, delivering outdoor ethics education within their units, districts, and councils.

What You’ll Learn

  • The 7 Principles of Leave No Trace
  • Human impact on natural environments
  • Teaching outdoor ethics through handson experiences
  • How to model and train others in conservationminded practices
  • Support for youth serving in the Outdoor Ethics Guide position

Who Should Attend

  • Registered adult leaders in all Scouting programs
  • Scouts and leaders aged 18 and older seeking certification

Course Completion

  • Participants who successfully complete this track will receive dual certification:
  • Scouting America Leave No Trace Trainer
  • Center for Outdoor Ethics Trainer

Leave No Trace Skills Education (Youth & Adult: Ages 14+)

This handson track is designed for youth and adults aged 14 and older who want practical, adventurebased instruction in applying Leave No Trace principles in real outdoor settings. Perfect for Scouts, Venturers, Sea Scouts older youth leaders, and adults who want to improve their outdoor skills without pursuing trainer certification.

Skills Focus Areas

  • Lowimpact camping and cooking
  • Travel and campsite selection
  • Waste disposal and sanitation practices
  • Respect for wildlife and other outdoor users
  • Applying Leave No Trace on hikes, campouts, and highadventure trips
  • This track emphasizes learning by doing, ensuring participants leave with confidence and practical tools they can use immediately.

Course Completion

Participants who successfully complete this track can receive credit towards the Outdoor Ethics Action Award.
