The Siege at Mafeking

December 6 – 8, 2024

Colonel Robert Baden Powell needs your help to resupply the town of Mafeking while avoiding capture by the dreaded Boer army.  Squads will visit settlements in the area and perform scout skills to earn badly needed supplies, then return to the town and receive further orders.  Hurry, Colonel Powell is depending on you!   

Join us for a fun, historical, night time, orienteering style competition! Your troop will break into squads of 6 to 8 scouts to ensure everyone has a chance to participate at several stations.  Two adults will also travel with each squad to Stations will include first aid, knots, problem solving, knife/Tomahawk throwing, orienteering, pioneering, physical fitness, and more.  Arrive Friday evening and join Colonel Powell in a welcome to Mafeking campfire.  The next morning, if your scouts are concerned about their scout skills, they can practice them.  OA and more experienced scouts will be available to help with skills and requirements as well. 

Any scout who wishes may participate, however, if you are an older scout or adult who wishes to volunteer, we welcome you to join our staff for the weekend.  The OA will also be helping us have an amazing event.
