Competition – “How will the race be run?”
Every race must have rules, and ours is no exception. Race day is March 2, 2019. Here’s what to expect:

There is a $5 registration fee. Race day registration is from 8:00AM – 9:15AM (Anyone not in line by 9:00AM will not be registered). This is to ensure we can start the races on time. If you think your car may need some fine tuning, i.e. more or less weight, please show up early. Race begins at promptly at 10:00am

We will use a ladderless elimination race method. Points are accumulated after each race. First place gets 0 points, second place 1 point, third place 2 points, etc. A car is eliminated when the defined point level is accumulated. Depending on the number of entries will determine the elimination point level.

We will hold individual eliminations for each den. The First and Second place winners from each den will move onto the Championship round.

Rules

Each scout may enter only one car in the competition. They should have a significant level of participation in building their car (designing, sanding, gluing, painting, decorating, etc.).

The car must have been built during the current program year (the school year in which the Derby is held). Cars that have competed in a previous Derby are not permitted.
Maximum width - 2-3/4"
Maximum Length - 7"
Maximum Weight - Not over 5 Ounces
Minimum width between wheels - 1-3/4

A complete list of Race Rules is available via the registration link.
