2026 National Jamboree CFC Contingent

Event Details

NATIONAL JAMBOREE

The 2026 National Jamboree will host approximately 20,000 Scouts BSA, Venturers, Sea Scouts, Explorers*, unit leaders, JST (Staff), and visitors. Scouting’s flagship national event is one-of-a-kind. It’s a gathering of tens of thousands of Scouts and Scouters showcasing everything that is great about Scouting. Over the course of 10 summer days scouts join together for this iconic outing. Because it normally takes place every 3 to 4 years, most Scouts will only have one opportunity to visit the Jamboree as a youth. Many Jamboree Alumni said their experience was one of the most memorable adventures during their years in Scouting.

To attend the National Jamboree, a Scout must: Be a currently registered member of Scouting America in a Scouts BSA troop, Venturing Crew or Sea Scout Ship: If attending as a member of Scouts BSA, a Scout must be at least 12 years of age and no older than 17 years of age. If attending as a member of a Venturing Crew or Sea Scout Ship, a Scout must be at least 13 years old and have completed the eighth grade or is age 14 and not yet 21 years of age.

To attend the National Jamboree as a contingent adult leader, an adult must: Be a currently registered member of Scouting America No less than 21 years of age Note: Assistant Scoutmasters aged 18-20 are encouraged to register for JST (Staff) or register and participate as a member of a Venturing Crew or Sea Scout Ship.  Adults that are interested in attending the 2026 National Jamboree with the Council Contingent are to pay their deposit in which will be refunded if not selected. Once your deposit has been received, your contact information will be sent to the Council Contingent Leader, Brad Tubbs so he can reach out to you.

The Central Florida Council will organize a contingent of Scouts and leaders to attend the National Jamboree and will organize Scouts and leaders into units within the council contingent.  Central Florida Council 2026 National Jamboree Units will consists of 36 youth and four adult leaders, not to exceed a total of 40.  Adult leader interviews dates will be held tentatively December 2024.  If an adult leader position is unavailable, adults are encouraged to attend the 2026 National Jamboree as JST (Staff). JST (Staff) members will have the opportunity to serve in numerous assignments at the National Jamboree. JST (Staff) members will be needed in many of the National Jamboree groups and services listed on the service team application. The list of positions is published on the National Jamboree website.

WHEN IS THE NATIONAL JAMBOREE:
The 2026 National Jamboree will take place July 22 - 31, 2026. The contingent will leave a few days before and return after the last night of the jamboree.

WHAT IS THE NATIONAL JAMBOREE:
It’s the most awesome event a Scout or Venturer could attend. It’s everything you can do in Scouting–and more–in one spot just for you . . . and about 25,000 of your friends from around the country and around the world! It’s 10 days of adventure and excitement that you don’t want to miss!!

WHAT DO YOU DO AT THE JAMBOREE?:
Climbing, zip lines, mountain biking, whitewater rafting, BMX biking, world-class skate park, shooting ranges, kayaking, arena shows, aquatic challenges, state of the art tech stuff, rappelling, merit badge opportunities, STEM Quest and even some patch trading along the way.

WHERE IS THE JAMBOREE?:
The Summit Bechtel Reserve is home to the National Scout Jamboree. Situated in the wilds of West Virginia, The Summit is a training, Scouting, and adventure center for the millions of youth and adults involved in the Boy Scouts of America and anyone who loves the outdoors. The CFC contingent will travel to the Summit in chartered motor coaches accompanied by trained and experienced adult scout leaders. The Summit is a place that takes Scouts and Venturers to the limits of what they think they can do, and then pushes them further.

ARE THERE QUALIFICATIONS?:
Jamboree Qualifications: Scouts bsa, Ventures, Sea Scouts and Explorers MUST have a current BSA membership, be at least a First Class Scout.(or equivalent depending on program) MUST be at least 12 years of age by the first day of the Jamboree but have not reached their 18th birthday by the last day of the Jamboree. Be approved by their home unit leader and local council. MUST have appropriate parent/guardian to complete the online parental consent. (An email will be sent to the parent/guardian during the application process.) Participate in mandatory pre-Jamboree training experiences with local council and Jamboree unit leadership. Submitted BSA Annual Health & Medical Record using the on-line Jamboree submission process.

WHAT’S NEXT?:
Here’s how you can lock-in your spot for this unique Scouting adventure. The Central Florida Council is working to put together 6 Troops totaling 200 youth. Spots are limited, so we highly encourage you to confirm your spot as soon as possible. The approximate cost will be $2,600.00.  The CFC Contingent Jamboree fee includes 10 days at Jamboree plus transportation, side-trip excursion, meals, shirts, shakedown weekends, patches and spirit items. A $200 ($100 non-refundable) deposit will hold your place on Central Florida Council’s 2026 Jamboree Contingent.  Once the $200 deposit is submitted, monthly payments must be made until the balance is paid in full.  Final payment deadline is 5/01/26.  A minimum of $1,850 must be paid by 12/31/25, as that is when the final payment to the National Office is due.
