2019 Villages Golden Eagle Dinner Pledge
The 2019 Villages Golden Eagle Dinner is the annual fundraising event that helps make Scouting happen in our community. Scouts in The Villages and surrounding areas are supported by both the Central Florida Council (Lake County Scouting) and The Greater Tampa Bay Area Council (Sumter County Scouting). The event brings together the business, civic and political leaders of our community to share the story of Scouting’s impact on our youth, and affords us the opportunity to honor great community leaders for their service.
We are pleased to honor American Legion Post 347 at our 2019 event, hosted by Mike Gleim.
There is no ticket cost to attend the Golden Eagle Dinner. All attendees will be asked to make an investment in Scouting prior to, or during the event. Pledges can be paid at once, monthly or quarterly. Since the Scouting programs supported by this event split across two local Councils, all proceeds will be evenly split among the two organizations, thus providing resources needed to support quality Scouting programs across both Lake & Sumter Counties.
The fundraising from this event helps us provide unparalleled experiences for more youth! Scouting serves more than 22,000 families throughout Central Florida, including 5,800 registered volunteers.
2018 was an incredible year for Scouting in Central Florida! A few highlights to mention…
- We grew our membership total by 8.5%!
- We invited girls to join the Cub Scout program for the very first time, and registered 2,567 new youth to the roster; ranked #2 in the nation with girl recruiting!
- 406 Scouts earned the rank of Eagle Scout, and completed over 69,000 hours of service to our community
- We were ranked #1 in the country for our Cub Scout Resident Camping program attendance
With your support this year, we will celebrate another incredible year in 2019!
