2023 Spring Camporee, hosted by Washington, D.C.

Come join the Scouts of the Washington, D.C. District to earn most of the requirements of the Cooking Merit Badge! Scouts will learn about the health and safety aspects of cooking, will get to see the many different ways humans have discovered how to cook, and will preapre meals themselves!
This event is open to Cub Scouts. Cub Scout unit leaders and den leaders will be needed to help with the Cub Scout age participants. Webelos and Arrow of Light are welcome to participate in the Cookerie program. They should join their troops or crews as they visit the cooking stations, and taste and provide feedback on the cooking done by those seeking to earn the Cooking Merit Badge. Younger Cubs will have the opportunity to family camp with their Pack units and there will be some suggested activities to work on in the Pack units. While not following the Cookerie rotation, younger Cubs will have a fun time camping. There will also be a pinewood derby fun runs, field game activities and water rockets on Saturday for the younger cubs.
The Washington, D.C. Chapter of the Order of the Arrow is coordinating this event. OA youth and adults from Troop 61 will staff and lead the camporee program. If you are an experienced youth Scout interested in volunteering as camporee staff, please send an e-mail to Quentin Colon-Roosevelt, D.C.
