Event Details

STEM Scouts

STEM Scouts tinker, explore and get creative doing hands-on activities in biweekly Lab meetings and occassional field trips. They try new things as they work with others, lead teams, communicate results and work with people in STEM careers.

STEM Scouts was designed by scientists from Oak Ridge National Laboratory to prepare girls and boys for a future of STEM literacy. Each year, we have 20 hands-on activities and accompanying kits for 5 modules or themes for youth in grades 3-5, and youth in grades 6-8 to explore together in Labs.

When/Where do we meet?

The Lab will meet in-person between October- June. There are about 2 meetings/month.

  • meeting times are Saturdays at 2pm
  • location will be a library in Alexandria/Fairfax,VA (TBA based on availability)
