- With your parent's permission, review the Scouting America Aviation Digital Resource Guide: https://www.scouting.org/skills/merit-badges/digital-resource-guides/aviation/. - With your parent or guardian permission do requirement 3(a) and write a report to include screen captures of your experience using the flight simulator.
- Requirement 3(a) Using a flight simulator software package, set a course and fly the headings you have established with a successful take-off and landing.
- With your parent or guardian assistance do one of the requirements for #4. Write a report of your experience.
Do one of the following:

- Visit a Federal Aviation Administration facility: Airport Traffic Control Tower (ATCT), Terminal Radar Approach Control (TRACON), Air Route Traffic Control Center (ARTCC), or Flight Standards District Office (FSDO). Report on the operation and your impressions of the facility.
- Visit a military aviation facility. Learn how that facility supports defense and/or civilian activities. Report on the operation and your impressions of the facility.
- Visit an aviation museum or attend an air show. Report on your impressions of the museum or show, and what you learned from the experience.
5. Bring your completed worksheet and reports to the Accotink Bay Flight School to review with your Merit Badge Counselor. The Flight school day activities will include activities to complete the remaining requirements not assigned as pre-requisites above.
In general if a pre-requirement is not completed then the scout can still attend the event but will not earn the merit badge at the event but will need to follow-up with the councilor at a later date to complete the merit badge.
