First Aid and CPR Training - Hosted by CVOA

Register for Emergency Care and Safety Institute First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR – Adult, Child, and Infant) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training on Saturday November 9, 2024. This blended (online & in-person) course is hosted by the National Capital Area Council’s Venturing Officers’ Association (CVOA) and Venturing Crew 128 of McLean, Virginia.
What: First Aid & CPR training - blended online and in-person
When: In-Person portion held Saturday November 9, 2024
Check In begins at 12:30PM for a prompt 1:00PM start with an ending time of 5:00PM.
Where: St. John's Episcopal Church, 6715 Georgetown Pike, McLean, VA 22101
Wear: Activity Uniform
Who: Registered Venturers, Sea Scouts, Explorers, or senior scouts of Venturing age (14-21)
Max: This course is limited to 30 participants
This blended course includes 2-3 hours of online module training that must be completed, bring your completion certificate to check in for the in-person skills checkoffs.
ONLINE LOG-IN links will be sent to individual emails included in the registration. If registering a group, each participant must have a unique email.
The “hands-on” in-person training on November 9th will include a snack break. All who complete both parts of this course will receive ECSI First Aid, CPR and AED training certificate good for two years.
NOTE:
Bring your online completion certificate. Scouts who have not completed the online portion will not be allowed to participate in the skills check offs.
Check-In starts 30 min prior to the 1:00PM class start. Please be early or on time!
Participant Health Forms are not required for this training.
There will be NO walk-in availability for this training. Registration for this event closes at 11:59pm on Sunday the 27th of October, to provide time for participants to complete their online coursework prior to in person session and for staff to prepare for November 9th activities.
This First Aid, CPR and AED training fulfills the Discovery rank requirements #2A and #2B. It also fulfills one of the requirements for the Ranger Award.
The participant fee of $25 includes the software license/log-in, snacks, and an ECSI Certificate.
