GMU Chemistry Workshops

Event Details

The George Mason University Chemistry Club developed a workshop for scouts to visit their Chem Labs on campus, and to experience the world of chemistry with a number of interactive activities!

This event will take place at Exploratory Hall, George Mason University in Fairfax, VA.

Event Description
The STEM Program consists of 2 hour sessions, and welcomes all girl and boy youth from grades 2-5. The program will begin in the Periodic Table Lobby of Exploratory Hall at GMU and end in the Chem Labs of Planetary Hall.

GMU's Chemistry Club will open with a safety brief, then conduct two exciting chemistry demonstrations, followed by three interactive activities! Come join us! All youth will receive a lab coat from GMU. There is a fee of $15/youth to cover the cost of materials.

What to Bring:

  • Hairtie for long hair
  • Safety goggles (if you have them - we will have extras too!

Uniform:

  • Youth may wear Class A/B uniforms (and yes, STEM Scouts can wear their Lab Coats!) but this is not necessary.
  • GMU is donating lab coats for all registered youth!
