Exploring with Ayiti Analytics

Exploring is a BSA affiliate program focused on career exploration and development. http://www.exploring.org

Ayiti Analytics is a Data Science Lab formed by a former NCAC Scout based in Haiti that is advancing analytical capacity through education, consulting and research. Ayiti Analytics is forming virtual NCAC Explorer Posts and you are invited!

In their first cohort, Ayiti will will offer a series about Introductions to Computer Programming in Python.
 

In this first, upcoming series, of six 90-minute sessions, Ayiti will teach: 

• Python knowledge: introduction to computing
• Shadowing at a Data Science Company: as a bonus, Ayiti will also provide students who complete the Introduction to Computing Course with an opportunity to shadow their virtual Data Science Lab for an afternoon; the goal is to show you what a real working day at a Data Science Company looks like!
•  Nova Award: for those who are registered Scouts BSA, they will have the opportunity to earn requirements 3-8 of Nova Award - Hello World! Please note however, that you do not need to be a Scout to become an Ayiti Explorer. 

The session for students who are 15 years or older will be Tuesdays from 4:30PM - 6:00PM on these days:

• July 21, 2020
• July 28, 2020
• August 4, 2020

The session for students who are ages 13 to 16 will be Saturdays from 10:00AM - 11:30AM on these days:

• July 11, 2020
• July 18, 2020
• July 25, 2020
• August 1, 2020
• August 8, 2020
• August 15, 2020

Interested in Data Science? Stay tuned! Ayiti Analytics will offer a couple series of courses for youth, including more advanced courses to come over the summer: 

• Data Visualization with Tableau
• Data Analysis with SQL

The program fee for Ayiti's Exploring program is $125 for the entire session.*  This includes all the sessions and Exploring registration.

*The fee for brand new Explorers is $125. If you are already a registered Explorer in NCAC (even if in another career program: law enforcement, aviation, business, law, etc.) your annual Exploring dues allow you to register for Ayiti's engineering Exploring Post for $98. 

Who can join?

This event is open to all youth (including those who are considering Scouting).  Please ensure the permission from a parent/guardian. All attendees are expected to behave in a courteous manner to each other and maintain a safe online environment.
