2025 WHITE OAK DISTRICT PINEWOOD DERBY

PARTICIPANTS, START YOUR ENGINES!!!!!

The White Oak District will run its Pinewood Derby on Saturday, March 22th, 2025. Please bring your car and spend a fast-paced day full of fun, racing and awards at this year's pinewood derby!

Co-Chairpersons for this event will be Josh and Melinda McNally.

The District Derby: Every Pack may enter one car, built using the WOD PWD 2023-2024 Builder's Guide, at each rank level: Lion; Tiger; Wolf; Bear; WEBELOS; Arrow of Light; ONE Show car for the whole pack; ONE Adult; ONE Cub Scout-aged-Sibling; ONE Den Chief. <<A Maximum TOTAL of TEN Cars per Pack>>

The pack should check every Cub Scout car to ensure it meets the weight and size requirements and the rules specified in the 2023-2024 Pinewood Derby Builders Guide, which may be downloaded from this registration page.

ELIGIBILITY: ONLY the fastest car from each pack for LIONS, TIGERS, WOLVES, BEARS, WEBELOS , AOL, Den Chief, Adult, and Cub Scout-aged siblings are eligible to participate. In addition, each pack can send one car to participate in the appearance/show car competition (maximum of 10 cars per Pack). Cars race by RANK Level, not by Boy or Girl Dens.

All CARS will be inspected at check-in to ensure they will fit the track and are not overweight, preventing damage to the track.

ATTENDANCE: Parents, sponsoring adults, leaders, friends, guests, and others are welcome on race day.

PROCESS: Winners will be determined by the fastest times at each race level. The District Race is all about SPEED, so all car race times will be recorded and winners determined by fastest times. All times will be collected in the race software and winners for the district race determined by fastest speeds.

AWARDS: District Awards for Fastest Racers for each scout rank – Lion, Tiger, Wolf, Bear, WEBELOS & AOL, fastest three cars overall, show cars, siblings, Den Chief, and adult.

First, Second, and Third-Place medals will be awarded for each rank level, show cars, and the fastest three cars overall. Additional awards will be available for Den Chiefs, Parents, Cub Scout-aged siblings, and adults.

Den Chief, Adult, and Sibling cars are a class of cars and are not eligible for the "Scout Rank" awards, nor are their times applicable for the District Cup. All cars must comply with the 2023-2024 White Oak District Pinewood Derby Builder's Guide. Download the Builders from this registration page.

WHITE OAK DISTRICT DERBY CUP
There will also be an opportunity to win the “White Oak District Derby Cup” which is awarded to the pack with the fastest average times (LION, TIGER, WOLF, BEAR, WEBELOS, and AOL racers. All rank-level cars **MUST** be entered and raced for a Pack to be eligible. Appearance cars are not a contributor to the District Cup. To allow more opportunity for Packs to win the District Cup, the lowest speed score will be dropped. IF there is no rank entered (such as Lion), then that "speed" score is dropped.
