White Oak Annual District Dinner

Event Details

White Oak District Annual Award Dinner

Who:  All adult volunteers involved in the White Oak District. Guests are welcome, but please register in advance so we order enough food.

What:  A night to reflect on the past year of scouting in the district and recognize those volunteers who have made an amazing impact on the lives of the youth they serve.

This meal is being catered by Cafe Shawreen, is Kosher and appropriate for all Scouters, Orthodox Jewish Scouters and their family and friends. Note that Kosher food is only available by advance registration by 5/18/17. Registration after that date may be a non-kosher meal.

The dinner will be buffet style consisting of:                   

  • Shawarma (Middle Eastern dish of garlicky meat or poultry served on pitas)
  • Falafel (A Middle Eastern food made from ground chickpeas, fava beans or both commonly served in a pita)
  • Pita bread
  • Condiments (note that some may not be kosher for the meal. Please check if keeping kosher)
  • Salads
  • Dessert (cookies, brownies, baklava)
  • Sodas and bottled water
     

Where: The Church of Christ at Manor Woods, 5300 Norbeck Road, Rockville, MD 20853

When: May 23th 6pm-9pm.

Cost: Early bird fee of $35 if registered before midnight on 5/18/17.

Regular registration fee of $40 between 5/19/17 and midnight May 22.

$45 late fee the day of the event or at the door.

Awards:

Several awards will be given out on this evening, including the Annual District Award of Merit, the Outstanding Unit Award ("The Bowline"), the Commisioner's Unit Award ("The Sheetbend"), the Sparkplug Award, and much more!

Be sure to nominate your fellow Scouter!

The Outstanding Unit Scouter Award, (Bowline) is designed to recognize specific members of a Unit, (other than the Unit Leader or the Committee Chair), who have contributed greatly to the Unit's success.  This is a One-time award and each Unit may nominate up to two members.
