The Sully District Pinewood Derby 2024 will be held in-person (and possibly live-streamed) on Saturday March 16th. Races will be held at G&C Tire and Auto Service located at 14008 Willard Rd, Chantilly, VA  20151. The race schedule and District race rules are attached.

Scouts finishing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place IN EACH RANK in a Sully District Pack race qualify for the Sully District PWD and are encouraged to participate in this event.  (NOTE: If one of the placed scouts cannot participate, please choose another scout to compete to encourage maximum participation.) Only one car may be registered by any Scout. Scouts will compete within their rank.  Pre-assigned “racing numbers” will determine the races for each car, based on a racing set-up which is optimized for the size of the racing field. Each of the rank winners will compete for the District Championship.

Sully District is looking for max participation at the Pinewood Derby and this SHOULD be interpreted as each Pack sending their top three finishers PER RANK (not just the top three finishers per Pack). So, if one of the top three cannot or does not want to participate, then fill their spot with the fourth, fifth, or sixth place, etc. finisher.
