Position Specific Training

Date:  September 12, 2026

Topics covered will be the role of the committee, the role of program, annual planning, setting your program year, developing a budget, and fundraising.

Pack break out sessions will cover Committee, Cubmaster, and Den Leader roles and Troop break out sessions will cover Committee and Scoutmaster roles.

Whether you are a brand new volunteer or have been around for a while, training is always a great refresher on new policies and a way to share experiences and best practices with others in similar positions.

CS Leader Specific Training

Location:   Ebenezer United Methodist Church

                   2nd Floor of Ministry Center (Room 202)

                   161 Embrey Mill Rd.

                   Stafford, VA        

8:15 – 8:30 AM             Set-up
8:30 – 8:45 AM             Registration
8:45 AM – 1:00 PM        Training

There will joint sessions along with three split sessions which will be taught separately during this time:

         Den Leaders and Assistant Den Leaders:
Den Leader training will cover best practices on developing an engaging meeting environment for younger scouts and a program to cover the transition from the Pack to the Troop during the Webelos and AOL years.

         Pack Committee Chair and Committee Members:
Each Committee session will focus on specifics of those roles like how to run a Committee Meeting, develop a meeting agenda, and document with minutes. Additionally, the session will cover required roles, developing an organization chart, interaction with the Chartering Organization Representative, and delegation of functional Scoutbook+ roles and functions to ensure effective unit tracking.

         Cubmasters:
The Cubmaster and Scoutmaster sessions will focus on the hands-on nature of the program, setting a Program Intent or vision statement, and defining roles and responsibilities within program volunteers. 

Scouts BSA Leader Training

2:00 PM – 5:00 PM        Training

Cost: There is no cost for this training in the morning or afternoon.
