Scoutmaster and Asst. Scoutmaster Position-Specific Training: Patriot District

SMPST is a required component of becoming a fully-trained Scoutmaster or Assistant Scoutmaster in Scouts BSA.  The Patriot District is offering in-person SMPST on Saturday, Dec. 3, from 12:30 to 4:30 pm.  The course will provide new Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters with the basic tools they need to lead successful Scout BSA Troops. 

The Course will be held at The Burke Centre Ponds Community Center, 9837 Burke Pond Ln, Burke VA (just off Burke Centre Parkway).  There is no charge. 

There are four prerequisite videos to watch prior to the course.  All are in my.Scouting/My Training/Scouts BSA:  

1.  Scouting Organization, (12 min, in Before First Meeting module)

2.  Aims and Methods of Scouts BSA ( 9 min, in Before First Meeting module)

3.  Role of Unit Key 3 (7 min, in Before First Meeting module)

4.  Introduction to Merit Badges (8 min, in Position Trained module)
