Join the Troops, Crews, and Ships of the Colonial District as we take on the challenges of the Mafeking Cadets.

The Cadets were a group of young boys that were organized to support their Village and the Troops of Sir Robert Baden-Powell as they defended the Village of Mafeking against the Boers. The siege on the village lasted for 217 day stating in the fall of 1899.

The Cadets carried out many duties during the siege including:

Serving as aids in the Hospital
Delivering Mail on their bikes
Observing and mapping the movements of the Boer forces
Delivering messages to the Troops
Signaling the Troops
And much more including an Order of the Arrow Brotherhood walk and Jamboree on the Air (JOTA).

Open to all Colonial District Troops, Crews and Ships. Youth must be registered with their Troop

EVENT SCHEDULE:
Friday October 18, 6:00PM until Saturday, October 20, 10:30AM

EVENT FEES:
Youth and Adult Attendees - $20.00
Staff - $10.00
