CLIMBOREE 2026
Join us on the long holiday weekend from October 9 - 12, 2026 for two full days of rock and tower climbing, challenge courses, Dutch oven cooking, and rifle, shotgun and archery ranges!
REGISTRATION OPENS APRIL 25
The National Capital Area Council and Mountaineer Area Council will host CLIMBOREE 2026 at Camp Mountaineer near Morgantown, WV. Scouts BSA, Venturers, and Sea Scouts are all welcome!
- Climbing on natural rock
- Climbing and rappelling on 60-foot tower
- Bouldering on gritstone walls
- Guided challenge course sessions
- Big Zip quarter-mile zipline
- Rifle, shotgun, and archery ranges
- All-day, hands-on Dutch oven cooking class
This will be a weekend packed with fun and adventure! Cost $30 per person. Limit 500 participants. Campers must provide their own tents and meals.
Important Info:
- The Climboree offers many activities and registration fills up fast. Make a plan for each participant before registration opens. *NEW* This year we have separated event and activity registration to make the process easier. Register first for the event (camping) on April 25 at 10 a.m. Register for individual activities on May 2 at 10 a.m. Event registration fees must be paid in full before activity registration is allowed.
- The sample roster template in this page's "Attachments" section speeds event registration. The "Managing a Roster" and "Registering for an Event" videos explain the process.
- *NEW* Linked troops that share a chartered organization may now join a single Climboree registration with shared two-deep leadership. See the Climboree 2026 Event Guide in this page's "Attachments" section for details. Troops that are chartered as single-gender units and do not share a chartered organization must complete separate Climboree unit registrations and provide separate two-deep leadership for each troop.
- The Climboree 2026 Activity Catalog in this page's "Attachments" section provides detailed information on this year's activities. The "How to Select Classes" video explains the activity registration process.
- Activity registrations will initially be limited to five per person. This limitation will be removed on September 12.
- You must complete event registration "Checkout" to be on the event waitlist. If you are on the waitlist, check your email often, especially after the beginning of August. We send notice when an opportunity is imminent. You may be passed over if you do not respond quickly.
- No refunds for cancellations made on or after August 31.
- No parking in campsites.
