Sea Scout Ship 11's 2nd Annual Box Boat Bash is August 29, 2026!!  It will be held at Hidden Lake, 111 Hilda Drive, Stafford, VA 22556.

All troops, crews, ships, and friends are invited to register a team! Please register each team on one registration.

Teams must have between 5-8 participants between 11-17 years old. A recommended donation of $20 to Ship 11 is requested for each team registration.

Each team will build a boat and paddles using only cardboard and duct tape. Teams must build the boat without adult assistance. Each boat must be propeled by team members using hands or paddles. The boat must be built at the site, must hold at least one, and no more than 2 people, and it must float. The boat will be used in multiple races and the final heat is a race until failure. 

Participants must wear a Coast Guard approved life jacket at all times on the water. Participants may be non-swimmers, beginners, or swimmers to participate. Ship 11 will provide supervision in accordance with Safety Afloat guidelines.  

Teams are encouraged to bring chairs, a canopy, water, and lunch.
