Aquia District Day Float for Older Youth Programs

Aquia District Sea Scouts Ship 11 is hosting a Day Float for members of older youth programs. The float will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026 from 2-7pm at Hidden Lake at 111 Hilda Drive, Stafford, VA 22556.
The event is open to any youth or adult member of the Aquia OA Chapter, Amangamek-Wipit Lodge, Sea Scouts, Venturers, and any Scouts BSA member aged 14 and above (or 13 and graduating eighth grade this year). Registration is limited to 50 participants.
Check-in will take place in the pavilion in the parking lot. Registrants will provide a current Health Form A/B.
Registrants are expected to provide their own paddlecraft, paddles, Coast Guard approved life jackets, and sound making device (whistles work great). Acceptable equipment includes 1- or 2- person canoes, 1- or 2- person kayaks (flatwater, whitewater, or sea), and 1-person standup paddleboard. Equipment will be inspected at check-in prior to entering the water. All registrants must wear a life jacket at all times when on the water.
Swim checks are required and are valid for one year. Registrants should provide a swim check form at check-in (or request a copy of their most recent swim check dates and swimming classification be entered into Scoutbook+ to show at check-in) for easy verification at the event by check-in staff. Swim checks should be completed prior to the event and will not be conducted day of. Non-swimmers and beginners may ride in a canoe with a Swimmer, but may not be alone in a paddlecraft. Swimmers may share a paddlecraft or paddle alone in a paddlecraft.
Bring your own food and drinks. Snacks will be available for purchase and support Ship 11.
