The Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS) is a hands-on training program designed for troop leaders to learn practical outdoor skills such as, how to set up camp, how to cook, knots and how to tie them, and much more. These fundamental camping skills will assistance scoutmasters in providing a safe and fun outdoor experience for the scouts. 

To be eligible for the course, please have your Safeguarding Youth Training (YPT) and Scouting America annual health and medical records up-to-date. 

Our 2026 IOLS Courses are:

April 17-19, 2026 at the Remington Lions Club in Bealeton, VA.

The course begins at 4:30 pm on Friday, April 17th and will be completed by 12:00 pm on Sunday, April 17th.
