WHO:

All registered Scouts BSA, Venturers, Sea Scouts, Explorers, and AOLs.

AOL dens who attend must be hosted by a Troop at the Camporee.

WHAT:

A gathering of local Scouts for a fun weekend focused on Cooking! Compete in our cooking challenges to earn the title of Top Chef! This challenge includes cooking 4 meals, with secret, strange, ingredients, and involves quick thinking and preparation of meals with what you have. Meals will be judged by fellow Scouts and Scouters from within the District, on Taste, Texture, and Presentation, along with how well you included your secret ingredient, and their overall impression of your meal. In addition to this competition, there will be a number of cooking related stations, including fire building, lashing, first aid, range and target activities, and cooking demos! A pumpkin carving contest will be held to find the best pumpkin carvers, and a Scouting Scavenger Hunt to meet other scouts from the district will be held! Every station and competition will be graded, to find the Best Cooking Patrol! Good luck, and have fun!

WHEN:

October 17-19, 2025.

Check in at Admin on Friday from 6pm to 8pm, or Saturday from 6am to 8am, to receive patrol resources. The Camporee officially kicks off at 7:30am on Saturday, and runs until 7:30pm with the closing Campfire.

WHERE:

Walkersville Watershed, 9026 Chestnut Grove Rd, Frederick, Maryland 21701.

WHY:

To encourage scouts to work on and complete Cooking Rank Requirements and their Cooking Merit Badge, participate in a friendly competition with other units, and to meet other scouts from around the District. And most of all, to have fun!

HOW:

Units will form patrols of 4-8 Scouts. When registering, indicate the number of patrols in your unit that will be attending the event.

$20 per participating scout. This cost covers patches, program supplies, awards, other assorted fees, and bathrooms.
