Here is the who, what, where and when for the Burke Lake & Prince William Districts’ Spring Camporee

WHO: ALL Burke Lake and Prince William District Troops, Sea Scouts, Venture Crews, & Explorer Posts
WHAT: “Canoe-O-Ree on the Rapidan and Rappahannock Rivers” 

WHEN:  April 25 – 27, 2025

WHERE: Rappahannock River Campground
COST: $28 per participant

The Burke Lake and Prince William Districts will conduct a joint Spring Camporee from Friday night, April 25 till Sunday morning, April 27, 2025. 

It will take place at the Rappahannock River Campground, 33017 River Mill Road, Richardville VA 22736.  This is in the Chancellorsville Battlefield area and near Fredericksburg.   

The camporee is open to Scouting America Scout Troops, Sea Scouts, Venture Crews, and Explorer Posts. 

The cost is $28 per participant. 
*There is no charge for adults that are just helping on Saturday or Sunday and are not camping overnight.

*Units will need to work with an outfitter or organize their own trip and bring their own canoes.  There are several canoe trips on the Rapidan and Rappahannock rivers offered by the Rappahannock River Campground and other outfitters in the Fredericksburg area. This is a cost savings to the troops finding their own outfitter.

**Prior to the camporee, Units that are canoeing need to conduct a swim test for any boating participants, both youth and adults, that don’t have a recent valid swim test.  Swim tests are good for one year so that participants who attended Summer Camp in 2024 can use those results.  Additionally, units need to submit a “Safety Afloat Plan” to their District Executive prior to the Camporee.   

If Units do not want to canoe - there will be six (6) merit badges offered and other activities that will take place at the Camporee and in the surrounding area. 

Units will be able to start registering for the camporee on Black Pug on Monday, March 17, 2025.
