Elangomats: Members that are interested in being an Elangomat for the Ordeal candidates need to contact frederickchapter@wipit470.org prior to registering.

Notice to Ordeal Candidates:  All ordeal candidates that have been elected during the election period should have received an invitation to attend the upcoming ordeal.  If you are not a member of the Frederick, please contact Mr. Frome or your chapter adviser before registering.  If you are not sure if you were elected, contact frederickchapter@wipit470.org.


Check-in

Friday (4/25) – Check-in will be done in the rec hall

Arrival Times: 

  • Staff 5:00-6:00 PM, Members 6:00 PM, Candidates 6:30-8:00 PM 


Saturday (4/26) – Check-in will be in the rec hall

  • 7:00-8:00 am: Check-in for those staying for the day
  • Brotherhood Conversion ONLY (NO FOOD) - Check in before 3:00 pm 
  • Feast Only - Check in before 5:30 pm  

Checkout Sunday (4/27)

  • Please do not just leave! End Time: Sunday at 11:00 AM 

Ordeal Candidate Weekend Gear

  • Essentials (packed separately and easy to carry): 
    • Waterproof ground cloth/sheet (tarp) (candidates/elangomats) 
    • Sleeping bag 
    • Water bottle 
    • Insect repellent & Sunscreen 

Your remaining gear should include the following:

  • Complete Uniform  
  • Work clothes, gloves, and hat (Work clothes should be durable, as some projects may involve dirt or paint. Long sleeves and pants are recommended to avoid poison ivy exposure. Bring a spare set of work clothes in a plastic bag.) 
  • Personal grooming supplies 
  • Jacket or windbreaker 
  • Multiple pairs of socks and changes of underwear 
  • Rain gear (be prepared for weather!) 
  • Tent 
  • Sturdy boots or work shoes 
  • Flashlight 
  • OA Sash (for current members) 
  • Tools for Projects (Specifics will be emailed out) 

CURRENT MEMBERS:
Please bring work clothes to help with the service projects!

What NOT to Bring:

  • Radios, CD players, or other electronic devices. You may be asked to check in your cell phone or leave it in your car. 
  • Snacks or food items.

 

NOTE: A tent is not required as we will be using the Cabins.
 

REMEMBER: All clothing should be appropriate for the outdoors and time of year. Remember you should pack for the season; be prepared! Temperatures in the mountains will be lower than in Frederick so plan accordingly.


Health & Medical Information

All attendees MUST bring their BSA Medical Forms (parts A and B) including an attached copy of their health insurance card. There are NO extra forms on site. Parts A & B do not require a doctor’s signature. Bring the completed medical form and a photocopy of both sides of your insurance card. If your family does not have medical insurance, please indicate this on the form.

All medications need to be in the original containers with the Scouts' name, dosage requirements (containers will be returned), and with the correct amount of Medication for the weekend. This includes over-the-counter drugs with a signed note from Parent/Guardian with dosage and instructions on time to be taken. Place all containers in a zip-locked bag labeled with the Scouts' name.  All medications shall be turned in during check-in.

You must bring a signed copy of Signed Lodge Code of Conduct
