Burke Lake District Fall Camporee 2025

Event Details

WHEN: October 17-19, 2025

WHERE: James Madison's Montpelier - 11350 Constitution Hwy Montpelier Station, Virginia 22957

The Camporee will be held at Montpelier, the home of President James Madison.  President Madison is considered the father of the United States Constitution.  The theme for the Camporee is citizenship.  We will camp on the grounds of the plantation and Scouts will have a chance to tour the plantation home and grounds.  There will be a separate Arrow of Light program.  Also, the Camporee will have other traditional Camporee events to include Opening and Closing ceremonies, Campfire, with skits and songs and a Senior Patrol Leader/Scoutmaster Leadership Meeting with a “Cracker Barrel”.  Additionally, on Sunday morning from 9 till 10:15 AM, we will conduct a Service Project for Montpelier.  It is amazing how much work 250 volunteers can accomplish in one hour.

At the Camporee, we will offer ten merit badges.  They include Citizenship of the Nation (two classes – total 40 slots), Community (20 slots) and World (20 slots).  Other merit badges are Archaeology (12 slots), Movie Making (20 slots), American Heritage (20 slots), Scouting Heritage (20 slots), Astronomy (20 Slots) and Space Exploration (20 slots).  Each Scout will be able to take only one merit badge.

Tours of the mansion will be available through the weekend.
